Myofascial cupping

Cupping in Torquay

Cupping is an ancient method used to treat a multitude of conditions and involves the use of warm glass cups or vacuum cups held by suction caused when warmed air in the cup cools, to massage the body by sliding along the muscle.

Remedial massage will combine this method to release areas where the fascia may be tight or trapped to allow the fascia to soften, lengthen, and release. By releasing the underlying triggers of pain and stiffness, myofascial procedures can help us release tangle patterns and regain our range of motion. Memories stored in the body’s tissues may also come to the surface and be released while we do this.

Most cupping procedures will create a red to dark circle on the skin, but this generally disappears within a week.
